Cantu was founded in 2003 by Rick Cantu as a textured-hair brand, with its roots in shea butter and conditioning products. Since 2015 it has been owned by pdc brands, and in 2020 it added Cantu Skin Therapy body care.

Cantu is known for affordable everyday products made for curly, coily and wavy hair. Its ranges are built around one hero ingredient each, which is why we have organised this page by ingredient.

Cantu’s Shea Butter for Natural Hair range is made for curly and coily hair, and many of our customers with 4C hair use it. Rich products like the Leave-In Conditioning Repair Cream, the Ultra Moisture Batana range and the Deep Treatment Masque suit very dry, tightly coiled hair best.

Which Cantu products are sulfate-free?

Look for “sulfate-free” on the label. Examples we stock include the Shea Butter for Natural Hair Sulfate-Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo and the Sulfate-Free Hydrating Cream Conditioner.

Which Cantu range is best for children?

Cantu Care for Kids is made for children’s curls. It includes a tear-free nourishing shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, curling cream and detangler.
