Which comb do you need?

• Wide-tooth comb: for detangling wet, conditioned hair with the least breakage.
• Afro comb or pik: lifts hair from the root to shape an afro and add volume.
• Pin tail comb: the metal tail makes clean partings for braids, cornrows and relaxers.
• Twist comb: for starting coils and comb twists on short hair.
• Barber comb: fine, flat combs for clipper-over-comb cutting.

Common questions

How do I detangle afro hair without breaking it? Work in sections on damp hair with conditioner in, starting at the ends and moving up to the roots.

Metal or plastic afro pik? Metal teeth are stronger and glide through thick hair. Plastic is gentler on the scalp.

How do I clean combs? Soak in warm soapy water and scrub with an old toothbrush.
