Which pik do you need?

  • Metal pik: strong, thin teeth that slide through thick, dense hair. The classic choice for a full afro.
  • Plastic pik: wider teeth, gentler on the scalp and good for looser curls.
  • Long or fan shape: covers more hair with each lift.
  • Fish comb and pik packs: a detangling comb and pik together.

Common questions

How do I use an afro pik? Insert the teeth at the root and lift outwards a little way. Do not drag it through to the ends, which causes frizz and breakage.

Should I pik wet or dry hair? Dry or just-moisturised hair gives the most volume. Detangle first with a wide-tooth comb.

How do I shape an afro evenly? Lift all over, then pat gently into shape with your palms.
