Collection: Curling Tongs & Wands

Curling Tongs & Wands

Curling tongs, wands, automatic curlers and crimpers from Wahl and BaByliss, in barrel sizes from a slim 9 mm up to 38 mm.

Which barrel size?

  • 9 to 13 mm: tight ringlets and spirals. Popular for short hair, wigs and defining individual curls.
  • 16 to 19 mm: classic defined curls.
  • 25 mm: the all-rounder for bouncy curls and beach waves.
  • 32 to 38 mm: loose waves and volume on long hair.
  • Crimper: zigzag texture and root lift.
  • Automatic curler: draws the hair in and curls it for you.

Common questions

Tong or wand? A tong has a clamp that holds the ends. A wand has no clamp, so you wrap the hair round by hand for a more relaxed curl.

What temperature should I use? Start low, around 150 to 170 degrees, and only go higher for thick or coarse hair. Always use heat protector on dry hair.

How do I make curls last? Let each curl cool in your palm or a pin before letting it drop.

Curling Tongs & Wands FAQs

Which curling tong size should I choose?
A smaller barrel gives tighter curls. A larger barrel gives looser curls and waves.
What is the difference between a curling tong and a wand?
A tong has a clamp that holds the hair against the barrel. With a wand, you wrap the hair around the barrel by hand.
How do I make curls last longer?
Let each curl cool completely before you touch or brush it, then finish with a light hold spray.
