Glycerin

Glycerin, also spelt glycerine, is a humectant, which means it draws water to the skin and hair. It is a long-standing staple for dry skin and thirsty curls. We stock close to 60 products, including pure glycerine, glycerin and rosewater, and glycerin creams from Clere, Eden, Glysolid and more.

Which one do you need?

  • Pure glycerine: for mixing your own sprays and adding to lotions.
  • Glycerin and rosewater: a ready-to-use skin softener.
  • Glycerin cream: a rich cream for very dry hands, feet and elbows.
  • Body creams with glycerine: everyday moisturisers.

Common questions

How do I use glycerin on my hair? Dilute it, about one part glycerin to four or more parts water, mist onto hair and seal with an oil or butter.

Why does glycerin sometimes make hair frizzy or dry? In very humid or very dry air it can pull moisture the wrong way. Use less in those conditions.

Can I put pure glycerin straight on skin? It works better diluted or on damp skin.
