Collection: Hair Bleach

Hair Bleach

Hair bleach lifts colour out of the hair so you can go blonde or prepare for bright fashion shades. We stock powder bleaches, complete bleaching kits and high-lift lighteners from Jerome Russell Bblonde, Crazy Color, Schwarzkopf LIVE, Garnier and Truzone.

Which one do you need?

  • Bleaching kit: powder and developer together in one box. The simplest option at home.
  • Powder bleach: bought separately and mixed with a cream peroxide of your chosen strength.
  • High-lift lightener dye: a box colour that lightens natural hair by several shades in one step.

Common questions

Can I bleach dark or afro hair at home? It can be done, but dark hair lifts through red and orange before yellow, and afro hair is fragile. Go slowly, do a strand test, and consider a professional for big changes.

How do I use bleach safely? Do a skin test 48 hours before. Wear gloves, never exceed the stated time, and do not bleach hair that has been relaxed or is already damaged.

Why is my hair orange? It has not lifted far enough, or it needs toning. A toner or purple shampoo neutralises yellow and brassy tones.

Hair Bleach FAQs

What do I mix bleach powder with?
Bleach powder is mixed with a cream peroxide developer. Use the ratio shown on the pack.
Which developer strength should I use with bleach?
Lower volumes lift more gently and higher volumes lift faster. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions and do a strand test first.
Do I need a toner after bleaching?
Bleached hair often looks yellow or brassy. A toner neutralises those tones for a cleaner blonde.
