Collection: Men Durags

Durags and Wave Caps

A durag keeps waves, braids and fresh cuts in place and protects your hair overnight.

Which type do you need?

  • Silky satin durag: smooth, with long tails for a firm tie. The usual choice for 360 waves.
  • Tie-down durag: a classic fit for everyday wear.
  • Stocking wave cap: light and stretchy. Wear it alone or under a durag.
  • Spandex dome cap: holds braids and locs without a tie.

Common questions

What is a durag for? It lays the hair flat, holds waves and braids in place and cuts down frizz while you sleep.

How do I tie a durag? Place it on your head with the seam on the outside and the front edge at your hairline. Cross the tails at the back, bring them round to the front, cross again, and tie at the back. Pull the flap down to flatten it.

Silky or stocking cap for waves? A silky durag gives the firmest compression. A stocking wave cap is lighter, and many people wear it on top of a durag for extra hold.

How often should I wash it? Regularly, as it picks up oil and product. Hand wash and leave it to dry flat.

You may also want wave and styling products, wave brushes or women's durags.
