Winter Skin Care Guide for Black and Brown Skin
Cold air and central heating dry the skin out. On black and brown skin that dryness shows as a grey cast, often called ashiness. In winter the aim is to put moisture in and keep it there.
Your winter routine in four steps
1. Moisturise with something rich
Apply a body butter or rich cream to damp skin straight after washing.
2. Seal it in
A body oil over your moisturiser helps hold moisture, especially on elbows, knees and shins.
3. Look after your face
Use a richer face cream at night, and keep wearing SPF in the day.
4. Keep protecting from the sun
UV is still there in winter, and sun can make dark marks last longer.
