Hair Masks & Deep Conditioners

A hair mask is a thicker, richer conditioner left on for longer to put moisture or strength back into dry, damaged hair. We stock over 300 hair masks, deep conditioners and hair mayonnaise treatments from ORS, Africa's Best, Vatika, Difeel, Shea Moisture and more.

Which mask do you need?

  • Moisture mask: for dry, rough or frizzy hair. Look for shea butter, coconut, avocado and honey.
  • Protein mask: for weak, breaking or over-processed hair. Hair mayonnaise and egg protein masks sit here.
  • Growth and scalp masks: formulas with castor oil, biotin or rosemary, applied to roots and lengths.
  • Colour masks: refresh or protect dyed hair.

Common questions

How often should I use a hair mask? Once a week suits most afro and curly hair. Use protein masks less often, about once a month.

How long do I leave it on? Follow the pack, usually 10 to 30 minutes. A plastic cap and a warm towel help it work.

Mask or conditioner? Conditioner is for every wash. A mask is the weekly deeper treatment.

Hair Mask FAQs

How often should I use a hair mask?
Once a week or every two weeks suits most hair. Use one more often if your hair is very dry, coloured or heat styled.
How is a hair mask different from conditioner?
A mask is richer and stays on for longer, so it gives more moisture or repair than a daily conditioner.
Should I use heat with a hair mask?
Gentle warmth helps. Cover your hair with a plastic cap, or sit under a hooded dryer if the pack suggests it.
