Build a simple curl routine

• Cleanse: a gentle or sulphate-free shampoo, about once a week.
• Condition and detangle: conditioner with plenty of slip, combed through from the ends up.
• Leave-in: a light conditioner or spray on damp hair.
• Define: a curl cream for soft curls, or a custard or gel for hold.
• Protect: a satin bonnet or pillowcase at night.

Common questions

How do I stop curls going frizzy? Apply products to very wet hair, do not touch while drying, and never brush curls dry.

Cream or gel? Cream gives softness, gel gives hold. Many people layer cream first, then gel.

How do I refresh curls the next day? Mist with water, add a little leave-in and scrunch.
