Collection: 4x4 Lace Closures

4x4 Lace Closures

A 4x4 lace closure is a four inch square of lace with hair hand-tied into it. It sits at the top of a sew-in to close the install and give a natural-looking parting, with none of your own hair left out. We stock human hair 4x4 closures from Rush and Dressmaker in straight, body wave, deep wave and kinky textures.

How to choose

  • Free part: can be parted anywhere within the lace, which is the most flexible option.
  • Middle part: pre-set down the centre for a quick, neat finish.
  • With baby hair: shorter hairs at the front soften the hairline.
  • Length: choose a closure the same length as, or slightly shorter than, your shortest bundle.
  • Texture: match your bundles, ideally from the same brand and range.

Common questions

What is the difference between a closure and a frontal? A 4x4 closure covers the parting only. A 13x4 frontal runs from ear to ear and recreates the whole hairline, but costs more and needs more upkeep.

How many bundles do I need with a closure? Usually two to three.

Sewn or glued? Closures are normally sewn down, which is gentler on the hairline. They can also be glued for a flatter look.
