Collection: Shaving & Bump Control

Shaving & Bump Control

Shaving gels, creams and powders, razors, and treatments for razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Curly and coarse hair is more likely to curl back into the skin after shaving, which is what causes bumps. We stock over 100 products, including Bump Stopper, Bump Patrol, Nyxon and Magic.

Which one do you need?

  • Bump treatment: applied after shaving to calm and help prevent razor bumps. Comes in sensitive and double strength formulas.
  • Aftershave treatment: liquids such as Bump Patrol used once or twice daily.
  • Shaving gel: clear gels give glide and let you see the line.
  • Shaving powder: a razorless option for men who bump badly with a blade.

Common questions

How do I prevent razor bumps? Shave after a warm shower, in the direction the hair grows, with a sharp blade and light pressure. Do not stretch the skin. Use a bump treatment afterwards.

Do bump treatments sting? Many contain alcohol or exfoliating acids and can tingle. Choose a sensitive formula if your skin reacts, and do not apply to broken skin.

When should I see a doctor? If bumps are painful, infected or scarring, speak to a pharmacist or GP.

Shaving & Bump Control FAQs

What causes razor bumps?
Razor bumps happen when shaved hairs curl back and grow into the skin. They are more common with curly and coily hair.
What is shaving powder?
Shaving powder is a depilatory. You mix it with water, apply it and wipe the hair away without a razor. Always follow the timing on the pack and patch test first.
What should I put on after shaving?
Use an aftershave balm or a bump control treatment to soothe the skin.
