Durags protect waves, braids, locs and fresh trims overnight and under hats. We stock more than 50 durags and wave caps in silky, velvet and spandex, from King J, Magic Collection, Red by Kiss, Titan and Fine Lines.

Which durag do you need?

• Silky or satin: the classic choice for 360 waves. Smooth fabric gives good compression and keeps moisture in.
• Velvet: thicker and heavier, with a soft outside and smooth lining. Popular as much for the look as the hold.
• Spandex: stretchy and breathable, good for sleeping and for braids or locs.
• Extra long ties: 40 inch ties are easier to wrap and knot securely.
• Wave cap: a simple stretch cap, often worn over a durag for extra hold.

Common questions

How do I tie a durag? Seam on the outside, front edge just above the eyebrows, cross the ties at the back, bring them round the front, cross again and knot at the back. Lay the flap flat.

How tight should it be? Snug, not tight. If it leaves a deep line on your forehead, loosen it.

How often should I wash it? About once a week by hand, as it picks up oil and product.
